Liza Calisesi Maidens MM, is on the conducting faculty at Eastern Michigan University and is the Director of Music/Organist at Northminster Presbyterian Church in Troy, Michigan. She joined the Detroit Concert Choir in the fall of 2015 as a section leader and was soon after named Assistant Director by the Artistic Director, Brandon Johnson. In addition to leading some of the DCC rehearsals, Liza sings professionally in the chamber ensemble, Sounding Light, under the direction of Tom Trenney. Liza holds a Bachelor’s degree in music performance from Central College in Iowa and a Master's degree in sacred music from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey.
